LOVE LOCKDOWN

OMGosh! Kanye was INCREDIBLE last night at the 25th Annual MTV Video Music Awards (VMA's).

I got in late, my next entry gets into my GREAT NEWS! My Grandson, Ernest Lee Ivery IV, Ernie's son, born 3 months after the crash, and I MET last Wednesday at my youngest son's work for dinner and on Saturday he came over around noon. He ended up spending the night. We went to Church on Sunday, and everyone was like, "He looks just like one of your boys," "Yes, he's Ernie's son," or, "Well, you can tell you're related."

We hadn't seen him since he was 8 months old. LONG messy story that I am glad is OVER!!! YEAH! He is SO........... cute and SWEET. BUT, right now is KANYE's post.

Kanye was the last performance of the night. I wasn't into the host, some nut who told "ME" I should vote for Obama. Some NUT from the British Isles. I may, but it surely won't be because he tells me to. SO.. I turned off the taped one and went straight to the MTV channel and got there just in time to see Kanye live.

He was FABULOUS! INSPIRATIONAL! OUTSTANDING! You name it, he was it. The production couldn't of been thought out and put together any better, from the clean cut grey suit, 4" flashing-beating heart over his heart with the lights all out so it would stand out perfectly, then the smoky effect from the side, the HUGE sky in the background changing colors throughout, him standing all alone up with the BIG SKY background, front lighting with 20 ft shadow effect of Ye, the African type drummers across the stage, ON-AND-ON! AND, the SONG - STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART ... I'll bet that one too. It was so good, I'll bet that song is going straight to #1. Another HIT for Kanye. BIG TIME!!!!

That whole storyboard was probably put together for the camera crew BY KANYE. I'd be willing to bet. It was just breath-taking. I cannot say enough.

Kanye West put on a show of ~ HIMSELF!!!!

Yes, there was great lighting, and a cool spaceship idea deal that he was stranded in outer space, trying to get HOME, but this concert was ALL KANYE.

No backup singers or dancers. No big production. No marching band. Just Kanye up there, all by himself, for the whole set, singing his heart out, song after song. FABULOUS!

Just a little interaction with his spaceship, and the lighting and stage was WAY cool. I just cannot get over how under produced it actually was for Kanye, but how COOL it was because it was HIM doing his thing BIG TIME! *May 2, 2008 update: ** OK, I've had to come back and rewrite this part. YOU SEE. I was sitting to the side of the stage, almost behind the stage some, you can see by the pic I took of Kanye. AND, the two BIG screens they had up were at the end where we were sitting, in fact one was LITERALLY directly above my HEAD. If it would have fallen, it would have killed me. (So, I couldn't see the screens either.) Anyway, I could not see the spaceship lights at all, so those cool pictures I have posted on May 1, I did not see that stuff.

I still saw enough to LOVE THE CONCERT none the less. It was FANTASTIC!!! So, when I made my comments the day after the concert that it was under produced for him, you have to understand that I just couldn't see what most saw and what Kanye. Just wanted to clarify that in case anyone reads this down the road. It wasn't UNDER-PRODUCED AT ALL. IT WAS SUPERDUPPERDUPPERDUPPER!!! WHEW!

I was THERE! I loved those SHOES. I want to get some for my YOUNGEST son, he's now 25. He couldn't go, so I took my step-daughter. Just Kanye, the lights, his spaceship and the stage. He put on a SHOW! BIG TIME!!! JUST HE HIMSELF & YE! No dancers, no backup singers, just Ye doin' his thing... AGAIN ~ BIG TIME. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it.

I am going to see Kanye West this Wednesday!!!!!!

I am SO........... excited!! I am taking my step-daughter. She is 19, and when she asked me where we were going, I told her it was a surprise, but to dress up. "Dress up, hip-like. Nails, hair, you know - you need to look real cute. We are going to get pictures taken."

My son says she will figure it out, just like he figured out where we were going, when I took him for Easter brunch to one of our town's nicer restaurant's. He told a girl at the restaurant where he's the asst manager that his mom was talking him to brunch for Easter. She says, "Oh are you going to Shenanigan's on the water in Tacoma?" "No, we're going downtown somewhere," SO SHE TELLS HIM, "The only place downtown where they serve brunch is the Oyster House. " Sure enough, that was where we were going! He thought he was SO........... smart! He says, "I'm a good detective." Oh brother.

Anyway, Kanye was my son who passed FAVORITE. He had me come upstairs to our office and listen to ALL THE WORDS to Jesus Walks, even before it was released. He had downloaded it. He said, "This guy Kanye is going places mom."

We played Jesus Walks over-and-over, as over an hour of his friends passed by his casket.

My niece and nephew love me to play the first song on his College Graduation CD.
